Hi Guys, just a quick one, how high should the clutch and brake peddles sit off the floor when sitting dormant, mine seem like they are miles off, with alot of freeplay before they engage.

There are bump rubbers which they should sit against. The brake pedal has a light spring which pulls it back to the rubber and an adjustment on the push rod to take up slack. Make sure that the master cylinder is in good working order.
The clutch also has a large spring which pulls it back & adjustment on the push rod - There is also an adjustment which controls the pressure with which the spring works. Once again make sure that the master cylinder is OK.

Do you have a workshop manual? It is advisable to get one if you don't

If you haven't grown up by 50, you don't have to.

Same as Ken said, the bump stop rubber brackets can bend slightly with years of abuse though so check that they are level or no matter what adjustment you make the pedals would still sit uneven.
