Door panel splash guard adhesive

Can anyone advise of a proprietary product that is used to adhere the plastic splash guards to the surrounds of the opening in the door inner panels?

I have a NOS set of the plastic panels and want to replicate as closely as possible the way the factory applied them.

I wish to avoid using a standard contact adhesive if possible.

I was thinking the same thing John...................  Must be all the excitment of getting the engine (motor?) running on the weekend.

My guess is a malleable adhesive like window putty. Roll it into a thin 'log' and then press the plastic on to it.

Removable and re-sealable.

It's a good thing actually, I was trawling some old posts on another forum and a disgruntled member had gone back over ALL his posts on the forum and replaced the text with emoticons  another case of the few spoiling it for the many.

As for your question Ed, I used contact adhesive, but Craig's suggestion sounds better.

Craig they make a sealer that is on a roll and is a black sticky shit it is about 6mm wide 3mm thick just peel the backing off and stick it to the door and then stick the plastic to it and flatten it out with your thumb ......FC427.......
