My vote's for leaving it as is, satin bumpers and de-trimming somewhat I do like the flat black thing, but at Wintersun, every second car seemed to be black this year Just my 2c

Dean,
The choice is entirely yours, one thing that I have always remembered was a panel van that did the rounds at the van shows, that was painted in black chalkboard paint, pull up at any place and leave some chalk around and people would draw all over it, the artwork (if you could call it that) continually changed. If you didn't like something just give it a tub
Just a thought
Keith

Better hope Jody doesn't read that Dean or you'll be in the bad books, how much is it worth not to tell her Pedro

Dean,
Paint the main FC colour in satin with gloss highlights. I did this to an FE (with FE colour style) and it looks good.
Cheers

Hi Ed, That sounds interesting, but I am leaning towards not painting it & using the money i would have spent on paint to get the brakes upgraded. I was given a set of HT stubs & arms today so it looks like I will be going that way. Probably do the P76 disc & HQ caliper setup from Hoppers. Just have to work out a rear end considering Commodore for the reliability factor. That way if I get excited with the 186 I won't start spitting banjo springs. Dean.

Still at the panelbeaters getting floor pans fitted. It is going to take a few weeks to get done so progress will be a bit slow till it comes home. The rears have been done but when I went over for a look I didn't have a camera with me. I will take one next time.
Dean.

Mate, i love the way it looks as it is, has an awesome finish! Even like the Taxi theme, design up a logo for the doors, "Hellcab Taxi Co." or something similiar and paint it on the doors in a ratty finish to suit the rest of the car. (May even be able to help you out there if your keen?) I just did a similiar thing to a old Valiant wagon i got off a mate, just kept the paint and panel as it was and built it along a Surf/Tiki wagon theme, came up pretty cool! I can post a pic if your interested. Thought id ask first being a Valiant and not an FE or FC.
