New features by the bucketful!

There's been a pile of improvements made to the boards in the last week or so that I thought I should bring to your attention.

1.  You will all have seen the Nationals poll by now - it's been implemented for about 2 weeks.  All members are welcome to add polls to new or existing threads.

2. There is a new Calendar feature available from the button-bar at the top.  This shows the current month and any events (including member birthdays) that fall in it.  All members are welcome to add events that they are aware of to this calendar, be they Club runs, meetings, swap-meets or whatever.

3.  The Instant Message system has been thoroughly revamped, and now shows you how many of your messages are new.  It also allows you to delete multiple messages in one go, and runs quite a bit quicker.  You can also choose to be notified with a sound when new mail arrives, and/or a pop-up.  A big improvement.  This feature was requested by kathleen (and others).

4.  There's a "Buddy List" option on the button-bar now, where you can create a list of the forum users that you regularly converse with, and easily check if they're on-line, send them IMs and so on.  (This is just part of the IM revamp, but might be of interest to some of you).

5.  The new biggie:  There is now a "Chat-Room" feature available from the Board Main Page.  Below the list of logged-in users you will find a list of users logged into the Chat-Room.  Follow the link to activate it in a separate window, and you can use it alongside the regular forum.  There is some useful Help available from within the Chat page, so check it out.  This feature was requested by custom_fc

Great work Ret
           I didn't think you could make this site any better than it already was but I was wrong. I have looked at a heap of car/club sites but none of them are run as well as this one. This site is user friendly, has excellent information on fe/fc's & motoring tips in general, great contacts to buy & sell, no wonder it has over 300 members & growing strongly. This site is a credit to you Ret & all those who actively participate in it.

I have to agree ! This is by far the best car club website I have looked at,  And like an old HOLDEN, It just gets better with age?

I echo all the sentiments above and would just stress that the website is an excellent FE/FC resource, especially for those of us who are "distance challenged" over here in the west....

Geez this would have to be the best car club site anywhere.
More bells and whistles than a new Holden.
If you thought the site was addictive before then dont go on the chat line!!
One of the best qualities is that it is so user friendly.
I am pretty slow when it comes to computers but find it pretty easy to use
