Is good, might look at some light truck tyres (tall profile) for the trip to Orange though

Took the diff in today and checked out the LSD.
The diff is a Dana 30, popular with 4WD Jeeps apparently  Shocked anyway a "Lokka" diff centre from 4WD Systems will cost $467 plus $80-100 to fit if I want them to fit it. This locks the diff until you need the wheels to spin at different speeds (eg corners) and then it unlocks itself.

the dana 30 diff is also similar to volvo diffs. i know this because i owned a CJ 7 Jeep with a 350 Chev istalled and blew the dana 30 crown wheel and pinion appart . the guy who rebuilt the diff was a jeep specialist and told me the volvo diffs centers could be used in a dana 30 housing for a lot less dollars back in 1983 the dana parts were over $600.00 volvo parts $120.00 so i went swedish. buy the way that same 350 Chev is now being installed in my FC Sedan
P.S. the dana 30 was the front diff the dana 40 or AMC diff was the rear diff in CJ model Jeeps

That was the last time she was on the road, until today.
After unceremoniously spilling her guts on the floor of the hall she's now had :
- Radiator clean-out
- Flushed the block
- new water pump and thermostat housing gaskets
- relocated the trans cooler from in front of the radiator to under the passenger seat
- deleted the thermo fan (wasn't hooked up anyway Undecided)
- Registered.

So far no leaks apart from the selector shaft that was happening before, better still the temp sits on 165 instead of 180 and only goes to 180 when sitting idling. The test will come next summer I suppose.

Wish list (in order) to complete before the Nats.
- Sort accelerator, modified commodore unit not modified correctly and binds making initial pedal hard then real easy.
- Fix the stereo for some tunes during the long drive.
- Fix horn, a short in the steering column means the horn goes off when turning corners, sometimes  Roll Eyes

After the Nats
- Maybe fit the Volvo diff that's been sitting around for months  Roll Eyes

Jonas was messing around in the garage today, this is the result, driving on a set of Falcon Coupe Door Trims  Wink

I quite like the look actually and the skinny tyres on the back should make for better "peel outs"  (not that I would ever partake of such an activity Wink )

and then I decided to "pimp out" the tool box with some left over un-saveable badges.

18 months later....

Two mezzanine floors have gone up, one at each end of the garage (both almost full  Roll Eyes )
and the strip down/improvement start continues.

Spats, badge holes filled and painted (yes there are bumps etc)

Interior stripped and windscreens out.

EJ Auto Column, stripped ready for paint to convert the B&M floor shift to a column shift.

Proposed pattern for the new retrim. Black Cloth, white piping to separate the black from the blue vinyl.

the improvement list includes a Sunvisor from a mate up in Queensland and a rear venetian from Tasmania. I am also thinking about a set of locally-made  Shocked lakes pipes.

They weren't kidding when they said these things are never finished.
Putting her back on the road has been a long time coming, my son gave me a rev-up wanting to be taken to his formal in it.
Mostly there, just need to finish the rear seats and a few other bits (for now).

New look!
B&W leather interior is gone.
Blue steelies are now Silver, stock spindles and springs in the front, Hornet bucket seats and I might even fit a faux grille mounted fuel tank.
