Brakes grabbing

Hi
 I have an Fc with a HR disc brake front end fitted and a HR diff with drum brakes, the problem i am having is the brakes seem to hold pressure on on their own, is the problem with the mastercylinder not releasing the pressure or is the remote booster the problem? Any advice will help

What sort of master cylinder?  Could be swelled brake hoses which is what I would check first. The calipers could also be gummed up which is what I would check second. There is a valve in the end of the stock master cylinder which can get gummed up - 3rd thing to check. Not likely to be the booster, but that would be the last thing to reco if all else is OK.

Thanks Ken, the problem is affecting all the brakes including the drums on the rear, have ordered a master cylinder from Repco today for a HR hopefully this will resolve the issue.

Did you order a disc brake one  .......FC427.....

Alan, when you fitted the d/b front end, did you replace the old original master cylinder with the HR disc brake one?  A drum brake master cylinder has a residual pressure valve which you don't use on disc brakes. This valve will hold pressure on the discs and make them drag.
So long as you have ordered a disc brake master cylinder, this should solve your problem.
