Hi everyone. For some time I have had a hankering for a 63 - 65 Riviera, along with the 1941 Cadillac 60 Special (not the '38 in my view) probably Bill Mitchells's greatest design. I thought the 65 is the one to have mostly because it has the clamshell hidden headlights and no fake side scoops on the rear quarters. Anyway i recently had the opportunity to acquire one and here she is. It is a fairly "basic" Riv, it has the small 401ci motor, they are all auto and I think the only option is aircon. It is a California car as you can see from the number plate. It is completely original, including paint and has 38,000 miles from new. the colour is called Midnight Aqua with white interior. This is a fairly unusual colour as they only produced about 900 of them in 1965, out of a production run of about 35,000 cars. I am arranging shipping, it should be here in two months or so. Cheers John

Now that I've got the beige with the grey, I'm looking for the cream, the bone, the ivory and the off white

John,
That's a nice looking car. What are your plans for the car. Are you able to register it on historic plates and if so are you able to leave it left hook.
I reckon they are one of the nicest cars ever made.

Hey John. She sure is purdy!! If ever you need a driver to get 1 of those Buicks to GM day or the likes, I'm your man. I have always had a love for Rivs, and that's as nice as they come. Congrats on the score. Regards Alex

Thanks guys. I guess like a lot of us, I've loved the design since I first saw a picture of one as a kid, yankee cars were pretty exotic for someone whose father drove a Morris Minor 1000 - can you imagine fitting a family of five in one of those now - I was looking for one when I got sidetracked and bought the 53. Keith, provided they are 30 years old you can register them in NSW - and I think most other States - lhd and that's what I'll do. Cheers John
