There have been numerous questions about reproduced sill and panels over the years and I haven't really been able to answer any of the questions simply because i had not used any. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a tailskin for the ute from Maryborough QLD, and perviously ordered 2 sills to hopefully match one another. The service, phone manner and packaging were outstanding! Items were exactly as described over the phone. Sill being $80 each and the tailskin $100 Results of the reproductions however caused Corey a few dramas. The way the sills are formed is through press brake, and the tailskin has a slight roll in it from top to bottom. See below However the original panels are concave, so the repo's result in poor fitment as we now have a straight edge not a curved edge, and the sills are not exactly the same profile as the original either and will have to be massaged to match the front guards or vice versa. In saying this I knew what I was buying as it was described over the phone, but these panel do require work to match the originality of the car. Skills that I don't have hence passing on the headaches to Corey Lucky Corey had a mate with a machine that could stretch the sheet to finish the curve off on the tailskin Getting closer slowly... Hoping for colour in September!! Cheers JB

I love going back to the start of this thread and look at how much work has gone into this ute.Even though there is still a bit to go you should be very proud JB.The hardest part of any rebuild (for me anyway) is staying focused, motivated and dedicated.Raising the funds is also a problem but all the money in the world is useless without the other three.Keep it up mate.Jamie.

Thanks Jamie, the funding is definitely the biggest hurdle at the moment!! Speaking of which, here is what some more funds did. Door gaps on the passenger side. Getting closer now, should be into the painter by the start of next month. Cheers JB

He told me I need to weld the doors up... I said um... ok...
He then showed me that after they are welded up then he can get his foot into the corner to lean the whole window frame across to get the gap correct. There is always a way to get things done I guess.
He is one talented dude alright!!
Cheers JB
