Another few moments on the ute. Made a couple of bracket for the fuel filter and the vapour seperator (well I think that's it). Does anyone know where to get some of this fuel line in Melbourne as well. Need a little more length than what I have. (Lots of lines there!) Some rear wiring harness next hopefully. Thanks JB

Thinking about it I will use a rubber hose and some clamps on the old fittings.
Should make it a little easier to find and make the appropriate length.

JB. Rubber fuel lines can normally be bought at the speed shops in length. Some of the connections on your tank may go to the carbon canister and throttle body. I ran metal pipes to the front of the vehicle for this only to be told by the engineer i did not need to run the canister due to the year of the vehicle and some other things. Check with your engineer first as you may not have to run additional lines/hoses. regards Brett

use a stubby holder around your fuel pump or small resilant mounts tp keep the noise down them 044,s are noisy buggers.

Thanks Brett, the lines I am running are directly from the commodore, 3 in total, feed return and vapour, plus the brake line... All i did last time was carefully straighten the old ones out and rebend them. I have a flare kit to re do them when I cut the lines to go through the floor near where the tank is and the fuel filter. Pete, thats a steel fuel filter, the fuel pump is the one from the VT which is contained in the surge pot inside the tank. I will show you a photo. So from memory I think I could just hear it in the van... sometimes not as the stereo was usually up a bit Cheers JB

JB, I know what your going through. i did the same. Easiest way is to remove all the tape and run the wires to the areas you know. Shorten and lengthen and then work on the others last. its all worth it in the end mate Brett

Thanks Brett, I have 2 front wiring harnesses so am planning on joining the two to get he correct length and have the same colour codes with all of the relays etc behind the seats. Trouble I am having at the moment is where to join the 2. Lots more thought to go into it before I get into it with the snips Cheers JB

Couple more shots of some slow progress this week... Fuel system hooked up to the tank, have to get some more fuel line to run to the front of the car as the donor stuff rusted. But happy with the result at the back. Many hours spent on cleaning up the rear wiring harness from the VT donor, removed the back door looms, wired up the rear lights, and the ABS and the fuel pump. But still very messy in here. Just sat in the lighting switches in the glove box... need to finish off the brackets to make it a little more permanent. Hope you are enjoying the snaps. Cheers JB

Great Snaps. Those wires do look like spaghetti. Some nice stuff with the fuel tank and tray.

8 years since the last time I did this Ed, I had forgotten how much "fun" it was... 2 bruises on the rib cage and a sore neck from lying on the tray manipulating the soldering iron and hair dryer for the heat shrink, I am a bit sore this morning.
