OK then, some more photos... Now that I have filled in the spare tyre door I have to stop the water from entering into the back of the car. Had to cover the number plate light.    Then flattened out the hump for the fuel filler pipe.     Need to get some sheet folded next for the tray. Cheers JB |

Well at the start of today I didn't have much to screw the timber to... After getting some steel folded in the old profile came up with this design.     Ran out of time today, so have another 3 pieces to cut and weld before its all done. The space front left is for the sub woofer, and the one on the right is for the battery, and all of the relays... the wiring is probably not too far away now. Cheers JB |

Don't you hate it when you are in the swing and you run out of welding wire!!! Got some more and finished the bits for the timber. Just need to grind the welds and smooth over.   |

Hardest part is stopping when it gets to about 6pm... can't make too much noise and annoy the neighbours.
But I am getting things done a little at a time. Its good to have it back at home thats for sure!

Noise can be an issue at my place too, so I like rainy, windy days as it means everybody is inside with the doors and windows closed. Means scheduling the noisey jobs to certain times of the day.

Good stuff JB, I ran out of mig wire myself halfway thru a job on the w/end, luckily I had a bit of 0.6mm left on an old spool to finish the job. Annoying tho. Good to see you back into it, going to have to get a giddy up myself now . Cheers Jack |

Yes Ed its gal, I ordered zinc, but they bent the wrong stuff up and gave me gal...At a reduced price. I figured that when it gets sand blasted that the paint will stick to it.
Couple of bits of timber fitted today and 2 pieces of timber, but I have to go to work so more photos tomorrow.

Don't be shy! As always any comments welcome... The board that is in there is 9mm, I think 12mm will be better to give it more strength. My brother wants me to put polished timber in there, but and worried about cracking/splitting as its only thin and not laminated. Maybe a type of veneer on the top I dont know. The floor will mainly be covered. But I will get them all running the one way just for you guys Cheers JB |

Make sure the grain runs front to rear and not across to reduce wind resistance. David |

I once made a alloy checkerplate tool box for a blokes caravan he said great job but was pissy i didnt line up the checkers on the checkerplate
I said your joking right and he wasnt.
