Hi Allen,

The front end was purchased from V6 conversions in Moree.

Will set you back about $5K then need VT, VX brake components... they just bolt up, and a power steering rack.

No progress for a long time I am afraid, however in the next week i hope to get it steering so as to move it.. So if successful hopefully I will get some pictures on here.

Well it steers, no photos I am sorry as the camera I had died.

Bought a VS power steering rack, and some blank arms... Cut to length and then had a thread tapped to fit series 1 VT steering arms.

Bolted up and made a make shift connection to the steering wheel, very good lock to lock on this one so I am very happy with the result... Now I just have to raise the coil overs so that the wheel will steer under the guards.

Something like these in chrome... i have had polished alloy too much work to keep them clean when driving everyday.



I think someone was asking about wiper motors the other day...
This is a VS motor that I am using.

The Foose mags look good J.B., but I'm not so sure about the different sizes front to back they look a bit out of proportion to me.

The reason being that I will have 18x10's on the back with the rear lowered to about an inch over the rim.

Can't do this on the front as it wont turn. But I want the tyres to have the same profile, as I don't think the look is right having 30 profile tyres on the FE/FC's on big wheels, so will be aiming for 40 - 45 profile tyres. Hence the reason for the different rim size, the car will still ride level.

Ed, I have thought very seriously about radiusing the front guards just like Harko did to his FB coupe. This is still a possibility.

Just want to get the look right first time.

if you can get a look at or some photos of Frank McCallif's Pro FE, his front wheel arch's have been radiused and you wouldn't even know. He has done a fantastic job. Most people wouldn't look twice at it, it's just one of the many subtle changes that he has done to that beautiful car.

 If you look at the difference in length from the top of the guard to the top of the radius you will see how much Frank has lifted the radius. It is a very neat job.

Well, its finally found its way to the new home. Now to get some of the finest Mig gas and an angle grinder to start it all again... Tomorrow it gets unloaded and work out where the hell I am going to start again.

Some gas, a new grinder, a day off... About bloody time I did some work on the ute after about 12 months!!!

Decided to start form the back and work my way forward. See how it goes.

Took a bit to get started again after cleaning the back of the ute out and seeing all of the surface rust from being stored in a humid climate. Wire brushed all of it back to look like it was loved again and then filled some of the holes I found hidden by a tar type of sealant the previous owner gooped on.
Once the holes were full, cleaned behind the spare tyre door and made a strip fill the gap at the bottom of the door as it will be welded in... No room for the tyre anymore with the tank, and the filler cap.

Next day off will fill in the rest of the panel and smooth it all off.

with the wheels i loved my walkinshaws but they are a bit outdated i think
I always see toy cars shopping the ones rolling  those massive rear wheels tubbed into the guards i like that look heres my car with the walkinshaws.

I like Harkos 20 minute rule... Turned into 3 hours of getting some stuff done.

Finished off the spare tyre door today.





Need to seal the number plate light next and then look at the hump in the tray where the fuel pipe was.
