Hi folks,

A while ago I bought a NOS Speco floorshift, which I've been thinking about fitting up to my FC wagon, but its marked as 'for EJ-EH'. While the wagon actually now has an EJ grey, it has retained the FC 'all in one' gearbox. So, I guess I have 2 questions:

1. can the linkages on the EJ shifter be modified to fit FC box...or

2. if I get hold of an EJ gearbox, is this a straightforward swap or are the two boxes different lengths requiring additional tailshaft mods etc..

thanks!

The EJ had a different box to the FC so your shifter will not be a straight fit up. The tailshaft lengths do vary from model to model though I have no dimensions for the gearboxes.  Gear ratios however appear the same.  Your best bet would be to get the right shifter for the job and on sell the one you have.

Hey Jonno
As Frank mentioned, the EJ box is completely different to FC.
The EJ Speco shifter bolts to the sode cover of the box where the FC Speco shifter bolts to the bottom cover of the box.
Check out our build up thread for pics of the EJ box and the fitting of the Speco shifter we have.

thanks guys.

looks like I'm up for an EJ box or a new floor shift. I think I can guess which will be easier to find...

The EJ box is not a straight fit.
Some things we had to play with:
Box mounts needed to be modified to clear the floor.
EJ slave cylinder is different and new lines had to be run to fit.
