As we all know, among the hardest things to get for our cars is a good gear lever knob. They warp and lose their shape and the first thing that happens is that the the chrome end piece falls out. By this time the thing is distorted and faded and repro ones aren't available. This is where car clubs really help. Some of you may recall that "Maco" from the Sydney Club turned down a repro horn button for my FE and made a bonnet badge. The result was fantastic. When I took delivery of my FC wagon "Thelma" she had the usual gear lever knob problem. So I asked Maco what he could do. Here is the result. the knob on the left is the original one with a new end cap made and fitted. Note how the sun has distorted it. The one on the right is brand new and made from scratch. Great result isn't it. They take ages to make and Maco charges $50 for one. I reckon this is a bargain. Cheers John

A handful of these were shown at our club meeting this week, to a lot of 'oohs' and 'aahs' $50 is a bargain. Consider what a NOS one goes for - and they don't come up that often. Well done, Maco. cheers RET

Good old Delrin, is it not fantastic to machine? Hard and stable and can easily get a nice finish on it without much trouble.
Cheers M
