Hi Harko,

Like a few other guys on here would have done I did spare a thought for Norm today, even though other commitments made it impossible to make the trip out to Young. He liked you a lot and always spoke of the times you had visited so its great you could attend.

Those who didnt know him I feel sorry that you didnt get the chance...

This is a very appropriate comment. He was a high quality guy who took the great challenges handed to him in his stride and never let them get him down.

Cheers,

Craig.

PS: I've got a copy of Norm's C.D and intend to play it for a long time to come.  Grin

Craig and Harko,

Check the articles in the last issue of Sideplate. We lost a couple of real characters these last 8 weeks.

Cheers Rusty

 Hi Harko
As I am the nearest member from the FC ferternity living near Norm, (I think) I take on board what you say in reguards to the non attendance at Norms Funeral.
I,.. like a lot of others could not make it for reasons I wish not to say here.  Yes it was dissapointing that there was no one from the FC ferturnity attending.
As usual your a straight shooter....I like that...
You do have me thinking about weather I made the right decission in not attending, however life is full of hard decissions.
Thanks Harko for reporting on Norn's funeral

                                                               Take Care
                                                                Bruce

Hi All
We dropped off a copy of "Sideplate" to Norm's wife yesterday so Norm's family could see the nice words that were written.
We also dropped off a copy of this thread from the begining up to and including Harko's funeral report.
Norm's family were very touched by the kind words expressed.

An old thread but about a terrific fella. Gone but never forgotten.

I had some axles made for my XU1 by Keith Croft and when I picked them up he told me he built an FC race car in the late 60's.
Well it turns out it was the car that Norm bought when he owned a music shop on Blacktown NSW

After Norm passed away the car was stripped and restored by a family member and is now partially completed and at Greystanes NSW.

I have the details for the current owner and can pass them on if anyone is interested.

PM me of you are serious. It's not cheap but a significant early FC racer that you can get a Cams log book for. That and the person who originally built it has verified it and has lots of early pictures.

RIP Norm. Not forgotten. Ever.
