It sounds like a two barrel carberurretor, with a vacuum secondary. I have never seen a two barrel manifold for a grey.

Has anyone seen what the advertisement states?

Nice find Jamie, haven't seen this add either, EffCee may be on the right track, there were a few different makers of these adapter blocks

I was under the impression that they were from the late 60's early 70's but the add proves otherwise

I know my Datsun 1600 had a dual throat carby & it performed just like the add says only mine was in dual throat mode most of the time  Roll Eyes

Here are is a pic of a unit I have, it has Nikki on the side which I think is a brand of carby

Does anyone know by the shape what carby would fit this adapter  Huh

and another angle

Back cover of Modern Motor for most of 1958, though the car pictured changed between a Morris and Zephyr as well as the Holden.
The FE was on the June 58 and July 58 editions atleast.

Zulu,

That carburettor adaptor looks like it will fit either a Nikki or Hitachi carburettor. I am guessing that it would have fitted either a carburettor off a Toyota Crown or a Nissan Cedric  or a Datsun 240C or 260C
