Ken,

What about door handles in good condition?  The ones I have installed are going a bit corroded in places (despite re-chroming!!) and I want to sort it out BEFORE I put my new door trims in rather than have to remove them later to do the door handles again.

If/when you send me the EH sump/pick-up (I replied to your other post), I guess the door handles will fit in that package?!

cheers....Brad

No not my project thank goodness,  I have nearly finished it and am looking forward to getting it on the road now.

Has a neat custom grille which I wont reveal just yet - wait till the Nats.  Also has some wild full cover FC caps which should get you thinking when you see them as well !!!

Have replied to all pm's
I have good door handles and some pretty good horn buttons (none perfect) Tail light surrounds I will have to check.
I will package up sump and get a price for postage in the next couple of days.

Hi Ken,
I am wondering if the shell still has the original transmission tunnel or has it been modified?

Is the shell stipped, in primer or original paint?

Also has the subframe been chopped to suit larger radiator etc?

Price sounds more than fair, keen to know more.

Thanks, Damon.

$720 - Probably snag it for $1000 for a near complete rust free and straight FC Holden already set up for a Red and when I was looking I only ever found ones that needed wrecking for that price  Cry.
I find this very interesting and especialy coming from you Ken.
Why are you dismembering such a useable vehicle ? Huh

Damon - car has original tunnel, original radiator, no mods except a few extra holes in the firewall for a non genuine heater etc.
Car was repainted red and white some 10 years ago and that is what is still on the body.
Bottoms of the front pillars have been repaired at time of paint with steel.  Tiny rust spots in 2 of the doors coming through but I see no rust in sills etc which should have come through after this time if there was bog in them.
My opinion is that it was a very good car.

Harko - This car was owned by a member of the army for the last 15 years.  He used it as a driver for quite some time and then in a flash of inspiration decided to give it a "freshen up"
When I went & looked at the car it was in 1,348,568 bits (maybe I exaggerate), but the subframe was off, the engine was stripped to every last nut and bolt, no interior in the car - you get the picture.
What was once a very good car was now a pile of parts which I have no inclination whatsoever of putting back together.
Hope this does not offend, but something has to be wrecked in order to keep the rest of the FE's and FC's on the road !

Nick - the seat is in fair to good condition. No rips or split seams but a bit grubby from having parts and boxes stored on it - I think it will clean up not too bad.

Hi Ken,
I may be interested in the HR crossmember,
is it complete with discs and so forth(or drums) or is it just the crossmember?
Also may be interested in the subframe.
Can you get back to me? Cheers ......BRAD.....

Just reading a few short messengers about this fc sedan and spares.
Im interested in seeing a photo or two on the shell to show me the condition, as mine has a damaged roof (Is repairable in away).
Not that fare away only a few hours or more. Im from Wollongong(about 6 hours to the Vic. border).

Brad, Crossmember is complete with drums.
Drums are not much use really but the wishbones would be worth keeping I guess.

Subframe is one of the best I have seen for a long while. As you probably know these are getting hard to find without lots of work needed to be done on them.

Jonesy,  I dont have any pictures unfortunately.
Like the subframe this shell is one of the best I have seen for sale and I believe it is priced very cheaply for what it is as Harko has said.
I have another guy who has already expressed interest in the shell but have made no promises as yet.
I cant say that it is perfect as there are a few holes in the firewall which have to be filled and various tiny imperfections, but it has very good sills very good floors and really straight quarters.  It has holes in the roof for a sunvisor which would have to be filled if you dont want to run a sunvisor.
As I said before some rust in the bottoms of the A pillar were repaired in steel when it was painted some time ago,

Hi there Ken.  I am interested in the front subframe. The only thing that puts me off is sending it to me in Perth.  Have you ever sent anything that size before? Could you guesstemate freight cost for me so I can figure if it's worthwhile.
Thanks mate

Sorry guys the subframe is taken! Grin

Ken, thanks for your time this afternoon.
It was great to see your latest project for a little inspiration, (and of course an old friend)! Wink

I will drop by on the weekend to pick up the subframe and hopefully give you some cash for the shell, just have to sort out some room in the shed first. (hope nobody beats me to it)!

Talk to you soon.
Best regards, Damon.

PS; You wouldnt be in the market for an FC sedan shell (slightly rusty) would you!!?  I'll throw in a custom interior!  anybody??
