Station Sedan or Station Wagon?

I'm sure I've read it on this forum before, just can't find it in the search.

What is the derivation of Station Sedan and when did it change to Station Wagon?

No basis to this whatsoever, but IMHO I would hazard a guess to say the EJ as before this they had 'Station Sedan' badgework, from the EJ on they didn't.

I might be wrong but as far as I know, Station Sedan is the "Railway" Station version of the sedan being a modified sedan to haul luggage from the station. Not sure where the wagon came from probably USA 
In England station wagons and cars that look like them are called an "estate" and I've also heard some called a "shooting brake", I guess these were used for hunting with the hunter popping out of sunroof or similar.
