Hi FCMAN and welcome

I have a completely standard FE front end with brand new standard offset HT rims - no need to fit HT hubs. HG rims are OK to use too.

Don't use HK rims - your wheels won't turn because of the inside offset fouling the tie-rod end. HK rims have little slots in the outer part of the centre (if that makes sense to you) and they have a deeper back spacing – this explains the different standard track measurement between HK's and HT/G's.

Check my avatar – I’ve been running HT rims for over 7 years now.  I use my car regularly and have had no problems with them at all - absolutely no scraping or interference (it’s also lowered 2" all around).

Hope this helps you.

Cathys'  "Ugly Duckling" FE  has got 14" Volvo rims which fit on it. BUT the wheel nuts don't fit !?
( but not being mechanically minded i don't know if they are FE drums ?)

Your wheel studs look short in the photo, what is the length - I can't read it. Also it looks like the Volvo rims need HQ wheel nuts with the deeper taper - this will help a lot.

thanks Ken
thats 20mm of stud
was thinking about putting chromed dome nuts on ( i've painted the wheels black in a pitiful attempt to make the sedan look 1/2 decent)
or fitting different rims when i need new tyres (but the usual question of which rim raises its ugly head)
if 20mm stud is too short how do i make them longer.......silly question, why would they make short studs if wheels/nuts wont fit on ?

 Cool Cool Cool
sorry my mechanical skills are worse than my photography skills
