George Street Sydney.....Note the tram lines are still there but the overhead trolly wire has been removed....trams last ran along George St in 1958....The new trams in Sydney only cross George st near china town......Remember 'Farmers'department store long gone....Great shot this!

Could be Newcastle.  A google search brings up an intersection of King and Steel Streets in Newcastle and there is still a building with 3 peaks to the frontage visible down King Street.

Another photo published in our local paper recently of Murray Street, Gawler back in the '50's. 
I did contact the history group,  since FC's didn't commence manufacture till 1957 they might need to amend the date of this photo.
