Pedro, That nearly looks easier than cutting the tunnel out, replacing the tunnel with an EK auto unit, then doing the rust repair on the floor. The bonus is that you will already have all your seat mounts installed and have relocated your hand brake too! Good luck with it Keith

Good to see you finally be in a position to get to work on it Pedro. I like your chosen colour combination but please consider painting the roof black too! Or do black cars scare you?

Or do black cars scare you? No but getting the roof straight enough to paint it black does, and also I'm too lazy to wash it all the time , speaking of paint a mate of mine reckons he uses two pack with a normal gun and just puts it in the sun to dry, doesn't sound right to me, any opinions Pedro

Pedro 2K will air dry..... if you put it in a shed close it up and crank up two of those gas patio heaters when the weather warms up a bit you should be able to get to around 45+ deg with out much trouble. that will cure OK ......I painted my rod with one gas heater and a kero heater and was over 30 deg a few week back when it was 15 deg out side ........FC427........

I just air dried the ute, but beware of solvent pop. Took 30 mins to tack off between coats!
last weekend, I just sun dried a bicycle frame I painted. works OK, but I would have used heaters like Mark suggested if I had some.
Keep up the good work Pedro!
Cheers

Thanks for the tips on two pack Mark & Ed, I've done a few laquer paint jobs and a couple in enamel but I've never tackled two pack before, I'm going to give it a go because i like the high gloss finish that is achievable compared to laquer, should i buy a proper gun or is my old gun good enough, if it's going to make a difference i'd rather go the extra $ and get the right one. Hi, Smart move leaving the doors on I made the mistake of taking them off and now that the floor has been replaced in my ute I can't get the dam doors to line up again. any tips on how i might rectify this? cheers G'day utesrule66, are the doors not fitting horizontally or verticaly, or is it in or out, hinges can be bent, holes lenthend but if the opening is too small you have problems, I learned the hard way I bought a wagon project once that someone had already started, the doors wouldn't even fit the openings at all, it was easier just to sell it on than to try and fix it.
