Hi all,
I have fitted a CRS hump into the floor of my FE Van and am now looking to purchase carpet to fit.  Do I purchase EK Auto carpet?  As I was told that the hump was based on the EK Auto hump.  Has anyone been done the same road, who could offer some advice?

Thanks

Michael

just about to do the same michael, and from what ive been told, yes, the auto carpet has the larger hump.

while on the subject, can anyone tell me how far up the firewall does the carpet come, ie does it make it past the seam weld?

cheers

I've got the CRS hump and use the EK auto carpet, with underlay it is still a little loose but being black it's not noticable. The carpet I got (Exact-Fit SA) doesn't go very far up the firewall, my wife draped some trimming carpet for the nationals (I wasn't that fussed) but when I get chance I want to fit a "vanity" panel.

Thanks Stinky,
I had been told that there is no aftermarket carpet to suit the conversion, but I thught with the CRS tunnel based on the auto EK floor that the EK Auto carpet would be close.  Just wasn't sure of the body width i.e. if it would reach from side to side.  thanks for the info, should work ok in my van as it is not a show car, but will be an everyday driver for work.

Thanks again

I used an EK auto carpet from Knox Auto Carpets.

It doesnt reach very high up the firewall however I have a modesty panel that tucks in behind the carpet edge and then blends into the dash.

Ed,

Would you mind posting a photo of your modesty panel please. I will also be using Knox Carpet and am wondering about the fit. Would be good to see it in and done.

hi Ed, while waiting to get enough $$$ for my carpet i have made up some modesty panels but took a gamble and guestimated how far up the carpet will come. i have made the passenger side come down as far as the seam weld between floor pan and firewall.

please tell me that this is far enough Undecided Undecided Undecided Undecided Undecided

hopefully carpet will be coming in a couple of weeks.

cheers

HEy EffCee,

Not sure if I have a pic, I only just fit the panel up prior to the Nats.

It's been moulded to the car using fibreglass, then upholstered in vinyl.
By all accounts the fit of the carpet is good, but I had it fitted by the guys who did the interior.  they padded it out here and there to get it right and steamed etc.
Im not sure if I could have done the job as good as them.

Smithy, the panel came further down than the seam in my case.

Cheers

Ed
