Read it all, followed you around, wished I could have done it as well. 2012 will be a little closer to me but don't expect a diary from me! Unless you want to organise an Ireland to Perth run?? Would need spares of everything, lots of petrol and maps and probably a few "protective weapons" to get there.... I can only dream....

Thanks for making it an enjoyable read.

Paul.

Hey Surferboy and Mrs  Cool Cool Cool
Thanks for an enjoyable read over the past few weeks.
Your journey allows us to realise what we are in for in 2 years time.
I hear the Qld club are looking for a guide for the next Nats, so you had better make your way over there.
I am sure they will let you know the time and place of their departure.
A whole new diary and a bigger map.
Thanks again.
Regards
Alex

(Note to self... rotate pics before posting )

Guess what the road looked like

Just a couple of minor (?) problems
I can't record Odo. Reading since the speedo stopped near Southern Cross. And I have a volt gauge that looks like this

Short 270km to the sheep station tommorow. (Time to do some repairs ?)

Day 2 contd.
Took a while to get through Norseman. The road looked a lot like this

At least my gauge looked like this

100km east from Norseman to arrive at  Fraser Range Station. Didn't see any trains Huh
I booked the budget accomodation

D.I.Y. Dinner was included (& fresh eggs for brekkie Grin

Lovely place to stay. Didn't know it existed till the eastern states guys mentioned it on the way to our nats.

Day 3. (?)

Got up early enough to watch the sunrise at Fraser Range Station. Still haven't seen any trains. ( or sheep Huh).
We've had cool, sunny weather. Ideal for cruising.
600km to Border Village today. No sightseeing today. Only stopping for fuel
And the usual pic

And for Tony (the bus driver)

There were 5 or 6 wedgetail eagles enjoying some fresh roadkill on the Eyre Hwy

And this is where we start going through different time zones and we still haven't left WA Huh Yet

One of us has

Started watching the Dockers getting flogged. Decided a early night before crossing The Nullabor was a better idea

Before I forget

Hi Smiley
To the couple running the Shell station at Kimba.

They remembered the FC wagon with the surfboard on the roof from when it was boring beige and we stopped at Spuds Roadhouse in Pimba (on the road to Coober Pedy) on the trip to Orange in 2010

Lets do the timewarp again... Roll Eyes Huh
I'm behind with my diary ! Numerous timezones... and then they throw in daylight saving.   Just to confuse me more
I think it is 8.45pm. Sunday 6th April
But let me take you back.......

Day 4
The day we cross the Nullabor
Weather continues to be cool with some cloud. Have seen a few old Cadillacs heading West. ( show in Busselton) and been leapfrogging a few caravans we had met earlier in the trip.
Besides roadkill, you see some odd things and people out here

And the guys at work think I'M mad

Not sure who is going to use this Huh Huh

Lunch was here

You don't get much change from $50 !

Whoops ... thought I was back at work for moment

Stopping in Ceduna tonight. Up EARLY Sad for the long drive to Adelaide tomorrow
