Nige and Jody,

The FC ID tag / Chassis numbers may well be right.  I have several numbers with a similiar spread.
Ken may comment in due course, he has the most details on the cars.
Some pictures would be nice.
FE is Marlin Blue
FC's are Granite Grey, and India Ivory over Granite Grey

Thanks Nige and Jody, FC 219 numbers are correct and match the sequence I have.

This is the only Granite Grey FC standard wagon recorded.

Interesting about the granite grey wagon because it is in not too bad a nick for being in this particular paddock for 20 years.  Still has engine and most of it's bits, including a window washer.  Headlining and most of the interior is shagged but the body, at a glance, looks OK, aside from the LHR door which has a gigantic dent in it.  When I saw it I thought, and am still considering, asking the owner for the complete car rather than the bits and pieces I have already negotiated.

I guess it wouldn't take too much to switch from my FC special sedan (India Ivory/Fountain blue) to a less common and therefore rarer vehicle.  The problem I have is I want to save them all but I guess you can't.  The FE standard seemed in ok condition too.

Before you get your hopes up, check the body thoroughly for rust, if its got the usual floor, sills and subframe rust, it's not worth the bother and your better sticking with your original project.

I appreciate any extra details you can find on the cars apart from ID plate and chassis numbers. Engine number, old rego number and rego date from the sticker are all good pieces of information that are useful.

howdy all,

Found another FE in the bush this weekend.  Numbers as follows:

FE2104 - 1223A
Trim: 156 - 683
Paint: 256 7481
Chassis: 7 - 28328M

I nearly had the engine number but me and big spiders don't get along too well so after poking with a stick, which the spider took off me (well maybe I made that up) I couldn't quite get my head near enough to the number to make it out.

Another interesting thing about this car was that it had windows in the sides although they were missing.  That sort of threw me for a minute because I thought I was looking at an FE wagon until the lack of four doors smacked me in the eyes.

Nige

Oh, I have pictures too if someone will post them for me.  Smiley

Thanks Nige -do you recall if the ID plate also had 333 on the RPO line?.
It would be unusual if it did not have 333.

Ken,

Not that I noticed and I did clean up the ID plate pretty well as the spiders were on the drivers side of the engine bay.

Considering the vans current location and its lack of windows it does not look to bad all considered.

Cheers Jim

Thanks for posting them Alex,

The photos were taken with my boy's mobile phone, aint technology amazing.  I wish I had've taken more now.  Should be heading up that way for ANZAC Day so I might try to find the place and take some more.

If you are going to get more photos, try and get a full car shot with bonnet and doors all closed and as much junk cleared away as possible. I have found this is the best result

Thanks for sharing
