G'day
After a 138 or 149 red motor, pref something complete but long motor is fine... After something to fix up (and relatively cheap) in the wollongong N.S.W. area or further south down the coast or not to far away.
Any help would be great!!

Hi JSM If you can go 149 I am sure the Hi Compresion ones came with steel crank, have you tried to buy oversized pistons for a 138 or 149 red  ? I have seen standard pistons on ebay but not oversized. I tried a few years ago with no luck but that was before the Computer made searching a lot easer. Does any one know were to get oversized pistons for a 149 ??........FC427........ |

I can go 149...? I'm after an engine... Not sure on getting over sized pistons for the little reds but i know i can get just about any size custom and i'm pretty sure you'd be able to pick something up to do the trick, Does acl make them?

Hi JSM Had a look in my ACL catalogue and can't find any listing for 138 or 149 pistons . I know about custom made pistons and how much they cost would be cheaper to pay the engineer and use a 186.[just a thought] There is another company in China that makes pistons for the red six I will get the details for the Australian importer when my mate gets back from 50 th Anniversary of the Nostalgia Drags in Bonniville in a couple of weeks . Does any body know where to get oversized pistons for 138 or 149 red? ?.......FC427........ |

Give JP Pistons a call in South Australia.They make heaps of different pistons for all older cars.

is it easier to get 161 pistons, it would still say 149 on the block.

They list pistons for 149 under part number JP 0470 and 161 pistons under part number JP 0616 but don't say whether they are standard or oversize.

Forgot to mention,
They don't list 138 Red motor pistons but they do make up pistons so they would be able to make them up in whatever oversize you need.
