Hi all, i was told by a reliable source that if i cut the inner gaurd to the chassis i would be able to fit a 275 tyre at the rear. After cutting the inner out the 275 touches on both size with a tight squeeze. If anybody has put a 275 tyre with out moving the chassis rail please let me know.

That would be a sexy FC with 11'' of rubber under the rear I thought about 9'' was the max tyre with out scraping......FC427......

im getting the impression that certain brand of tyres may differ in actual size. I have a 8.5 inch convo pro with the 275. Might look into different brand or just go to a 255.. This cars stressing me out already!!!!

John,
recently had my FC mini tubbed to the chassis rails. There are a few things you might want to know before you start. First you need to see an engineer as some of them limit the size of wheel that is legal for that particular vehicle inc tyre size. The engineer that i used allowed a maximum of 245 tyre size.(This is with 18 inch rims). This fits the mini tubbs ok but would not want to be any wider as when you turn corners they go very close to rubbing the inside of the tubbs. Also the engineer would not allow the chassis rails to be modified. Hope this helps.

Hey Sexy,
                    Sounds like a come on line doesn't it?

In a nutshell a panhard rod or panhard bar stops an axle assembly from moving sideways.(sort of true)

It actually stops it from moving too much sideways.

yeah i knew what the panard was but i didnt understand how this could help me with the tyres?

hi
i recently spoke to an engineer in Vic and explained what modifications i had done and also fitting the 350 sb, and he said it was fine. I just have been hearing alot of rumors about engine limitations in these old girls.. Thought i might fill you guys in.
