This is quite an achievement!  Your original post did not make it clear that this was a US show. Not many Aus cars win awards in the US

I rekon Peter Fiztpatrich should take his FC over there
here is a reply i found from an American forum
.
.
Blacky - Mercules was the buzz of the show. Everyone I talked to loved the car and the extreme level that it was built to. The V10 looked cool in that car and the interior was also way off the charts.

The car won Most Elegant Custom as well as 1st in Radical Post War Hardtop and garnered a front corner spot alongside Rick Dore and John D'Agostino. Both are well known builders here and bumping one of them for a corner spot in their hometown is not easy. Dore & D'Agostino are both in the GNRS Hall of Fame which grew from the Oakland Roadster show. The Oakland show was the first major indoor show in the US going back to 1949. It has evolved into the Grand National Roadster Show which is next weekend in LA.

Just checked out 1000+ pics of the GNRS and there was no sign of Mercules.
From the post above it would seem that this win was in a show just before.
Ken.....Mercules was showcased at SEMA on the House of Colour stand....no mean feat to get a spot in that hall either.

Oh, and if I haven't said this before......WELL DONE FantaC!!!
