Tabs in the floor pan

Hello all,
               While doing repairs to the floor pan I noticed these tabs in the floor pan where the rear passengers would normally be resting their feet. I also see some in the area under the rear seat.

What are they used for? If not important they will see the wrath of my oxy flame.

I've got the same tabs in my FB's and EKs and was wondering the same as you.I'm guessing they are drain holes to let out moisture in the event water gets in??
Someone here will know for sure.

I always assumed they were they are drain holes.

Yeah Ok it seems that they don't actually do anything hold wires etc. I will weld them up, I can only see water getting pushed up from the bottom.  Would have thought a drain hole would be round?

If some water does get in down the track I will have to deal with it then. Going to POR 15 in and out anyway so not really a problem in regards to the steel floor pan.

The tabs would minimise the amount of "splash-up" while letting water out.
