Hi Guys,

I have an FE wagon upper tailgate.
it has a lip running horizontally across approx 2 inchs up from the lower edge which I assume a seal sits in.
Does anybody have an example (or describe, or pic) of the shape of rubber which was used in this strip?

I'm looking to put the proper FE upper tailgate back on the wagon.

on the upper edge the hinge screws are recessed which looks alot neater than bolts.

Cheers

Ed

Ed, I have just sent a pic to your email address( let me know if you don't get it & I'll try again), it's just a U shaped rubber that you could probably pick up at Clark Rubber.
Keep in mind that your lower tailgate may be harder to close with the other rubber in place.

The lower tailgate rubber is also different between FE and FC - If you use the original FE upper tailgate rubber - you have to use the FE lower tailgate rubber as well because the FC lower tailgate rubber sort of compensates for the top rubber not being there. In fact I think the rubber channel on the tailgate itself is different between FE and FC.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the pic, it looks like a pretty simple rubber strip to find. thanks again.

Ken,
Interesting info. I'm using an EK upper and lower at the moment, Sounds as if i may need to stick to it for the time being.

will check out the weather seal channels anyway out of interest.

Cheers
