Here's a look at a rare Canopy Industries brochure showing 2 different styles of Admiral Challenge canopies for the new FE ute. (note that they are available direct from your Holden Dealer)
It also features the 'Fold-a-way' seat that fits into the tray area. Check out the drawings of how this ingenious seat works. A good idea before the use of seatbelts.
This is a Bi-fold brochure. I have flipped the back page to make it easier to show.

Alex

hey alex ,

i was out at a friends place who just bought back an
fe ute from woop - woop and it has one of these
"fold-a way"seats ,its not in the best condition being out in the weather all these years but ,its still a good find .
it even had the original metal tag from the supplier but , DOH i`ve forgotten what it said.
so next time i`m out that way i`ll let you know and i`ll take some pics if you like.

this ute must have been owned by a wealthy farmer
because of the amount of nasco goodies on board .

cheers

Hey AC
Would like to see the pics and info off the tag....thanks.
I have seen 1 of these seats. A guy in the club by the name of Patrick had 1 in his ute that he did not want and he sold it to another club member, but I can't remember who. Patricks no longer in the club, so I can't ask him.

Just curious Smooth, why did you put the writing through the images?

I would say so no one can save the picture and print it out without smoothsplace.com appearing all the way through it. Spoils a perfectly good picture.

It's called "watermarking", and is done for the reasons John suggested.  I don't agree with it myself.  If you scan a picture and reduce it to 72dpi, the quality is perfect on the screen (72 dots per inch is screen resolution), but prints like crap, which achieves the same effect.  The other thing Smooth is doing is keeping other people from linking to his images on the internet (and presumably thieving his bandwidth).  This is a real problem and I often find stuff from this site lifted without permission on other sites.  I sometimes follow up such sites and request that they properly attribute where they got their images from - depends how blatant it is.  Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

I can't point the figure too hard.  There are a few things on this site that I grabbed off other people's sites 'cos I liked the look of it. :-/

cheers

Hi Alex

Sorry its taken so long (Not enough hours in a day these days). I had my mate take the pic for me. It doesn't show much but it does show what the weather will do to it.

I'll see if I can find out the info on the badge for you.

Cheers.

Thanks A-C.
Looks like it has seen better days. Still worth saving IMO, even if you basically have to remanufacture it.

Hey Alex, Patrick sold, or gave, I can't remember, the seat hinges, seat frame & badge to me.
A mate of his rebuilt the frame, it's wood so I don't have any upholstery or the metal strips that go on the back.
If you want I can bring the seat badge to the next meeting, I would like to have a look at the seat you have too.
Any chance of a copy of that brochure  Huh
