Jamie Modify the overriders and make them easily detachable that way you can change the look when ever you feel like it.
I like it either way.
Cheers Jim yeah, make them magnetic, if you are bad at parking or road rage you can keep some spare in the boot. rolled pans would be cool but tricky on a FE-C, you have enough chrome, you could loose a bit in a few areas, maybe add some in the form of lakes pipes but loose the door handles and scratch plates and mirror, loose that chunky ariel or french it or stick it under the car or under the dash, anyone got a minute to photochop that stuff in (or out)

yeah thats looking better, apart from the chop and getting that low it would be easier for me becuase i dont have photoshop, you forgot the mirror, maybe take of the seatbelt bolt in the b pillar too. its ammazing the difference the rear quarter badge and door handles make and now that flash is looking real cool on a nice clean handle and badgeless side.

;)GEEZ Dean you have done a grouse job, but your making my fe look like the next one im planning to build!!my fe is only going to be a mild custom the blue and white fc you can see in the background is going to look a bit wilder than you have made the fe allready....as for the one piece bumper,it would take a bit of welding and a trip to the chromers, but quite an easy job to do as i am not a big fan of having the bolts showing in between the bumper ends, this may happen in the near future!!but would i have to lose the overiders on the rear too??cheers jamie

hey sorry there jamie im getting more work done chopping and channeling other peoples cars than my own, even if it is just digitally but i truly do love the look of it with the grill. if you need a great chromer then i can reccomend electroplating technologies in Queanbeyan ( the lesser discussed suburb of canberra ) if there is anything else i can attck your car with please let me know. my mouse is just itching for some custom body work and i can be descrete

Looks really good and brings back memories of FX's and FJ's with their bonnets filled in and sporting FE grilles with the De Soto set up. That looked very smooth in every sense of the word. Good find, good result. Laurie

ok jamie, sorry for the delay but training took longer than expected, i just hope you werent sitting here waiting for me to post. ok lets start with something simple i know you said if the black looks sh*t then try something else ( i wont say what colour ) but black does look pretty f****** neat but it was quite a challange to try and get something to look like a satin black ( hell call it artistic freedom but this is the way i would go) so first we have the basic next we have a pastel yellow ? not too fussed about this but different strokes, i did try and get something like a metal flake gold but working with a very small file size made things quite a challange i ended up giving up on the flake but with a larger file i now know how i could do it! but this one does get me kinda squishy inside, but then again i am a fan of this colour, even think of it as a satin or matt if you would like to send me the original file smithy59@gmail.com in as high res as possible then i can do some better work but with a very small file @ 72 dpi i was working at times pixel by pixel ( true as) so the edges arent as smooth as i would like. and there are a few areas like reflections and wheels which i missed but hey! hope you can get some sort of inspiration from this but the only thing i do have to say is that i agree 100% with mark that grill does look crap. can i have it please when you get rid of it let me know if there is anything else i can do for ya. thanks for the fun i did enjoy it dean ps. the best bit is i never got burnt by the hot axe once, just a cramp in my fingers and slightly pissed waiting for my bloody computer to sort itself out

hey jamie, no problem at all mate my pleasure. as i said if you want to send me a larger file i could knock something up for you to keep and work from.
i do like the black suede look but always have had a soft spot for that style, but i think with all the 'extras' taken off i too do like the original colour.
cheers dean
