Hi, does anybody know the original colour of the 3 speed crash boxes in FC's. Mine is a greeny-blue colour and while I've got the box out for o/haul I'd like to paint it the original colour. Any help appreciated. Cheers' David Roll Eyes

Same colour as the engine - they were painted as a single unit.

Hey David
My missus reckons you should paint it purple, that would be original  Grin.
But I agree with Ken, grey motor grey is the way to go for authenticity. If you need an up to date paint code I have a mate who  is a rep for Harts Paint and some original painted parts to match from. It may take a while as my projects take second place to his real job Wink. Send me a PM or something if you'r interested.
   Brad.

Thanks Ken and Brad. I'll paint it the trusty old grey motor grey. I guess mine must have been a reco box from somewhere. Let's just hope I've still got 3 forward and 1 reverse gear when I get it all back together LOL. Cheers, David Grin Grin Grin

The original grey motor grey has quite a greenish tinge to it.  The paint code is:

393-10367  Dulux Autocolour Holden Engine Grey GMH

cheers

Thanks for that info Ret, I'll try to rustle up some paint from the local auto paint shop. Cheers, David Cheesy
