differences between FC and FB motor

Hello all,
When a reconditioned motor has been put in my FC they have used an FB motor and I was wondering if there are any differences between an FB motor and an FC motor. Also can FC parts like distributor, fuel pump, alternator and starter motor etc. Be used on a FB motor with out any problems?

 ;)Mark the main differences are that the fb motor is larger in capacity138 cu instead of 132 in a fc,the rocker gear is stronger in a fb motor as well,and all the bolt on gear is exactly the same!!hope this helps you out!!cheers jamie

FB/EK's were a bit heavier than FE/FC so an FB engined FC should do the quarter in around 59 seconds compared to the FB's 60 seconds

easy way to tell the bigger motor is the bigger welsh plugs on the block under the exhaust

Checking for the large welsh plugs under the manifold is not a definate way of indicating that its a bigger capacity motor (138 cu in).Late 59 FCs had large welsh plugs but were originally a (132.5 cu in)

Thanks for the replies everyone, the motor is Definitely a larger 138  grey motor.
