This photo was sent to me by Tony Galea (NascoHunter) for posting on the forum. It is obviously a photo of a photo, on display at the recent Bendigo swap. This van was advertised as for sale along with another van and ute. No details on the seller, so don't ask. Posting pic here for it's obvious interest factor. Regards Alex

Interesting pic. ?Is it the long lost Mr Whippy FC Van Looks like it has been modified so you can stand in the back. Would make a good food van for an FE-FC club for selling burgers/chips etc! Might be a bit hot in there cooking though Merry Christmas to all.

I agree with mini .That's the most uglifyed UTE I have ever seen . Different but ugly none the less . Maybe the owner had a bread run . Shayne You could mount the B.B.Q on the ute turret . I wonder what happend to it ? is it still in the car ? . Brad.

Yes it is indeed a ute, not a van and for those not old enough or not from the country like I am, it is a drapers van. For the uneducated, drapers would travel around door to door and sell to the farming community as they needed stuff. A bit like the guy in the "Snap-On" van nowadays travelling around the workshops. This is why it needed to be a high roof in order to hang the clothes without creasing them. I have fond memories as a youngster when the draper arrived at our house. We also had deliveries from the grocer, the baker and the milkman, whilst we had to travel a couple of miles up the road to get our mail as the mail was all dropped off at the one house which was central in our town. Ah times change Ken

Mark, sorry, not meant to be offensive. The "education" was for those either not old enough to remember such things (I was born in the 50's) or for those who were old enough, but not from the country. Not meant to be a derogatory term at all.

I think this ol girl would look great in Birdwood restored or something of the like. Its would have a great history. Has anyone seen Jimmy Sharmans old International Truck at the Melbourne museumn?? What a piece of history. This old van is along the same lines I think and I would love to see it restored and not end up at sims. Any of you old blokes out there ever match up to one of jimmy Sharmans boxers and have a dip!!!!!!

Went up to bendigo today for a small swap and show and shine and spoke to the owner of this ute. His name is Mick CRONIN and he is a panel beater from Daylesford in Vic. This is a ute with a canopy it is not a van. Anyhow hw has for sale, -2 x FC Utes -1x FE Windowless van -Bucket laods of FE/C parts to go with them, mainly guards bonnets etc etc also a hr disc brake front ready to bolt in to a FC, also 186 4 speed etcd etc etc
He wants $3000- for the lot but Im sure is negotiable, RABBITOH this one is a good deal and may be a good one to follow up. PM me for a ph no as i will not post his number here, cheers

Hey Tayz. I may not be able to afford the cars, though they sound reasonably priced, but I would be interested in some more pics. A pic of the rear of this car and any signs of who did the conversion would be cool. Don't forget the ##'s for Ken. Regards Alex

Hey Tayz I think the price is good as well, but how do I get it all to Brisbane . Transport would nearly double the price and the impossible part is convincing the missus that this is a good idea Brad.
