Difficult question Deano.

FCs had three different paint styles during production. If you look at technical info on the forum homepage at point 10, there are 57 individual colours listed, not all of which were available on FCs.

If you take into account the fact that a number of combos could be reversed and ordered as single tone in some cases, the number of potential combinations is large Tongue

What exactly do want to know?

Cheers

This page shows most of the colour combinations, but it does not separate FE from FC.  However, it does identify the colours that were available as single-tone (since they have their own trim number) and where the colours can be reversed (eg 276 & 277).

In addition to the wrinkles John mentioned, some colour combinations were deleted over the time FCs were in production, so not all were necessarily available in all of the 3 FC paint styles.  The yellow/black Trax FC is a classic example: no FC ever left the GM-H factories looking like that, as the yellow/black combination was dropped in late 1958.  All yellow/black FCs were painted in the initial style only - never just the insert like the Trax model.

Hope that helps in some way...

cheers

Thanks for the info on paint, it just seems to me that GMH introduced a wide and varied combiation of colours with the fc.

I can identify 55 two tone FC colour schemes plus 9 single tone colours (not counting special manufacture cars which would add another 11 to the sigle tone total) that I have recorded.  There are probably another dozen or so that I have not got details for yet.  I keep collecting details and every now and then a new colour scheme is identified.
