.....1) what does the "RPO" and "TOP" mean on the compliance plate?, and.......

2) was the plate painted over after mounting or should it be bare metal?

3) I saw a second plate on a ute, sorta bronze in colour, mounted south-west of the compliance plate, had something to do with "weight/capacity" from memory? What's that all about and did they all start life with one? Cheesy

Ute-opia,

RPO - Regular Production Options
TOP - Colour that the top section of the vehicle was painted in.  Does not apply to utes.
Melbourne vehicles had painted ID plates, Sydney and Adelaide unpainted.
All utes have the carrying capacity plate as original, there should be a couple of holes in the firewall where it is mounted.

I have some if you need one.

Yes, please.......I'll pick up a capacity plate at the next meeting if you can bring one along.  My plate was unpainted but can't remember if it says S or A since it's not here......important thing is I took it off before the little beauty gets sprayed! Grin

Thanks,
Howie
