Here's a pic of a FE competing in the 1957 Mobilgas trials. Pic taken in Darwin.
No chrome or indicators seem to indicate that this was a standard or business sedan.

Nice ones alex,
those big lug tyres in the first photo would have been noisy on that new fandangled bitumen seal in Darwin's streets.

Hey Shayne ,  Yep , those tyres , you'd hear 'em coming for miles on the tar.  They were called "winter treads" most of the farmers around here used them on the dirt roads.   50's - early 70's vintage.
