Just a nice shot from the Pix magazine dated January 17, 1959. 2 FCs and 1 FE, possibly all of them Standards...? I will stand corrected by the experts, but I think they look like Standards....

Cheers
Les....

Hey Slim
Mrs says she remembers HALT signs , Black & Yellow she thinks , also remembers "trams" in Concord , so HALT signs must be pretty OLD    Lips sealed     (Hell I'm being BEATEN)

Your right Normd, he didn't stop... the article is about dangerous driving etc....  Here's another one from the same yarn, also with some old FCs (not sure if they are trying to say FE and FC drivers are bad drivers or not... Wink) but in this shot - obviously dummied up for the shoot - these two girls are crossing the road, one FC stopped for 'em, and one didn't... LOOK OUT!!!

Unfortunately the pages met right in the middle of the pic.... :-/
cheers
Les..

Just adding a few more pics from the article....

This one has an FC and 2 FEs, one of which is a taxi...

... and this one has an FC Special, FC Standard, and 2 FC taxis....

These days no-one would walk out in front of a lineup like this one without looking.... we'd all be standing on the path watching on in awe...!! Wink

Cheers

Funny thing, they nearly always drove with their elbow on the window ledge!  My Mum did her driving test in a FC wagon, she remembers having to put on the indicator and use her arm to signal, let off the handbrake and turn out of a parking spot on a hill, she ran out of hands!!  She passed the test still!!

Hey Peter... I think it's the law when you drive a Holden, that you have to put an arm on the window ledge!! Must be why she passed....

Sorry it's been quite Brett...! As I was saying to Zulu at the meeting the other night, it's getting harder and harder to find new old pics that no-one's seen before...!! Got a couple more to add here in a sec... just got to scan 'em in. Wink

Hopefully the old-photo supplies will never dry up completely....!

Cheers
Les...

PS: I like that last one the best too... Awesome to see so many in the one shot!
