Alan,
This is what I posted on the FB/EK Forum on this subject in September 2010
Well after a fair bit of research online I decided to fit a PCV Valve onto my grey motor, I thought I'd give it a run to make the engine run a bit "cleaner" emmisions wise and hopefully cut down on condensation in the rocker cover for around town short runs. I've replaced the draft tube with a suitable size rubber elbow, red motor PCV, and a clear Diesel filter with a washable element for any oil residue to cling to so it lessens the chance of it going back into the manifold. I was surprised when I googled the subject up how many are fitting inline filters into pcv lines on late model and high performance engines.
I did find a few racing grey motors used in historic racing running PCV's by tapping straight into the top of finned rocker covers but I couldn't do that to mine and I was trying to make it look like it was meant to be there. After I fitted it up I had to retune my carbs to bring the idle down ,at this stage I haven't touched the mixture and fitted a new set of plugs to see how things go. The engine runs happily enough and it will be interesting to see how it goes anyone else done this on their daily driver?
Since the PCV valve has been fitted in September2010 there hasn't been any problems, it certainly solved my condensation problem from short runs and has eliminated the annoying oil residue that forms in the breather and finally the floor (Yes I know thats how they are supposed to work) I did post pictures on the FB/EK forum.
