rb30 into fc van

  ???hi im after info regarding putting a rb30 motor(VL) into a fc van. i was told when i brought the chassis kit (from a place in central vic not going to say there name) that i didnt need a rack and pinion set up. but after looking at it and doing some measurements it looks as if the manifold is going to hit the steering box. can anyone help. thanks
