Anyone else interested in fuel figures? Martin got 28.57mpg from his stocker. My car, grey with triples, crash box, 3.55 diff: 20.7 mpg over 342 miles. My car was filled to the gunwales with stuff, including 2 spare heads. Colin

I must say, Col, that with the 2 "spare" heads you carried, you do a good job in camouflaging the bolts in your neck. lol

Not an FE/FC I know but my grey powered EJ got 11.2l/100k from Canberra to Jindabyne and back. Motor is stock except for extractors and exhaust and I'm running a 3.55 diff.
Sat on 60-65MPH most of the way too. Even though it doesn't have neck-snapping acceleration, once up to speed not much will slow it down (I was thinking hills but this probably applies to the 4w drum brakes too).
I'm not sure what my l/100k is in MPG- I can convert mi to km but not sure of the litres to gallons conversion.
Cheers,
Dave

Attached is the page out of the NSW Club official Log-Book for calculating and recording fuel economy.
The formulae are:
If recording in MPG Convert Litres to Gallons by multiplying by 0.22 MPG = Miles / Gallons
If recording in L/100 Convert Miles to Kilometres by multiplying by 1.6093 L/100 = ( 100 * Litres) / Kilometres
Hope that helps.

To convert from x l/100km to y mpg, divide 282.5 by x.
To convert from y mpg to x l/100km, divide 282.5 by x.

Spinner I think this: To convert from y mpg to x l/100km, divide 282.5 by x. should be To convert from y mpg to x l/100km, divide 282.5 by y

Colt's question: Martin got 28.57 mpg, what's that in l/100km?
The answer: 282.5/28.57 = 9.89l/100km.
EJ Dave's question: My EJ got 11.2l/100km, what's that in mpg?
The answer 282.5/11.2 = 25.22mpg.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
Brett

I divided the distance to the moon by the number of times the sun goes around the earth added 69 took away xy & z drew sum numbers out of a hat counted the number of legs on my three legged dog counted backwards from 3678 (or8763 i cant remember ..but it doesnt matter) turned the page upside down and divided by three multiplied by 1958 (it was a very good year) and then guessed I got 12cents per kilometre
