we are re building a grey moptor for the ek and are about to get the head worked, but we also want a really largo mild cam in it, does anyone know where to buy one already to go in or if it has to be grinded or any other details needed Huh

also if anyone knows how to remove and install a camshaft

Waggot Engineering would be a good place to start in the cam search. I think they are in Vic?
A manual is going to be a good reference for cam installation, just so you don't miss any important steps.

its just i remember when we tried taking a cam out of a seized motor, it was  moving and everything but there was a retaining plate stopping it coming out  (at least thats what i remember)

There are 2 small bolts or screws holding the retaining plate to the block. Accessable through the holes in the timing gear.

will check this out as we proceed to dissasemble the motor

another thing my dad remembers about 6 years ago there was someone who made custom manifolds to suit your own application and were wondering if anyone knew of where or if this happend

Any reasonable alloy fabricator could knock something up, at a premium I suppose. I have seen a custom 4bbl Holley manifold made for a Red6 in an LH Torrie, it had real long runners compared to the usual cast items.
If you could mock something up in cardboard or wood or something it would make quoting easier, but at the end of the day I reckon you'd be better off (both in time and money) with a cast unit.
