Hi all, just wondering if anyone can recommend a good/cheap (if its possible to have both) Exhaust Fitter in Melbourne (South Eastern suburbs - Dandenong) who is sympathetic to installing exhaust systems in FC Holdens.

And should I install and original system or go for something better?

Trufit Exhausts in warrigal Rd Moorabbin have done all my exhaust systems and they offer great work at reasonable rates. Tell Geoff (owner) Leigh with the Red/white FC wagon & Green FB sent you & you'll be looked after.
Geoff's hobby is Hotrods now but he used to have an FC.
cheers,
Leigh

Thanks Leigh, I rang Geoff (yes he knew you) and have arranged to get it done there.  Just need to figure out how to get an unregistered FC Ute from Narre Warren to Moorabbin.  Permit or Trailer?

FC exhausts are still available to buy over the counter, still listed in their parts books. You could buy it and fit it yourself, not a really hard job or get your one copied.

Thanks Geoff, I don't have one to copy.  The one on my Ute is directed out the side, in front of the passenger wheel, I don't think that will pass a road worthy.

When you say over the counter, is that from like Repco, East Coast Auto Spares, etc??

Kev,
If the utes in going condition and the brakes and lights work a permit is the go, you wont get hassled as you are driving it to and from a place in order to get a roaworthy.  You can get one for a week or a month, cheers

Many thanks Geoff, I got the part numbers from the local Midas franchise and ordered it from R & E Auto Parts for like half the price.

One step closer to roadworthy and reg!!! Smiley

Hi torque, click on my web site to see all the pics.

I've decided to keep it in original condition as possible.  That'll keep Rob (Tas) happy.  Wink

I'm just about ready for roadworthy and registration now, waiting on a new windscreen.  Replaced most rubber bits, new brakes all round and brake booster fitted.  Re-wired the back to get the indicators to blick in orange lenses and lots of little things.  Thanks for your interest.
