Hello,

Torana columns can be used for their collapsibility in modified FE/C's.

The torana ignition switch invloves the use of a pushrod activating an ignition block located on the column.

This block has many wires leading into it.. obviously main power, accesories, igntion and starting wires.

I have a wiring diagram from a torana which describes which coloured wires terminate into the block however, it does not indicate the wires position on the block.

Would somebody who uses this forum know which wires go where??

Cheers

If the torana ignition switch block is anything like a HQ-Z block it has a plug which houses all the wires ,i.e.  all plugs in together and also has a retaining clip to stop it falling out .
Perhaps your best bet would be to grab a plug out of a dead torana harness , this would give you your colour coding , plus the proper plug to keep it as the general intended .

hi Stinky,

its a UC column, I have a feeling that all the ignition blocks maybe the same even including Vb-VL comms?

I have the LH/X diagrams also the HX diagram, Blacky reckons there's a plug, so im going to pop into the wrecker today and see if I can get a plug.

thanks for your offer.  Hows your project coming along?

Cheers

It's a battle between garage time and the wife's backyard/garden projects.
