Has any one out there able to estimate the date of an FC Sedan using the body number alone.  My body number is FC225-16820-S.  Im interested in knoing whether it is a 58 or 59.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

It's almost certainly 1958, given that it is only the 15,000th-odd FC Special Sedan manufactured in Sydney.  However, the chassis number can help you here if you have it.  If it say's 8-xxxxx-S, then it was made in 1958.  If it says FC-xxxxx-S it was made in 1959.  I'm not sure that this changed on 1/1/59, but it is still going to be pretty close.
Ken might be able to give you a more accurate date from his extensive research.
hope that helps, RET

Chuck, my program says your car is right on the edge of Dec 58 and Jan 59.  The chassis number would be the clincher as Richard suggests.
