Grey is that a colour or just primer?

I'm with you began to think I was on an anti kiwi / aussie site not an FE FC Holden site.
The banter is very amusing, but not when it hi jacks every posting (or there abouts).

Long live the ANZAC spirit and let the common goal of keeping FE FC's alive bring us all together

hi   john     the most accepted answer is that grey is NOT a colour  because we usually paint our cars GREY & then apply "THE  COLOUR"

       Grey is a colour, just not a prefered colour. Probable because it does leave the car like its missing that finishing touch I guess. Or as you said Trev most use it as a primer then add the colour. But who really care's as long as its going to see another FE - FC Holden back on the road. Colour is a personal thing it tells everbody straight away alittle bit about the person who has restored the car. Everything that we do when restoring our car adds to the signature, (the end restult) this tells people who we are and want we are. By looking at a person's car you can pretty much understand a lot about their innerself and this is why we do what we do (restore old Holden) so people can see that we care about our history. Many differant resoration job's that have be done over the year's show's how many differant types of personalatty's make this counrty's future History. For an example My FE the main body work is Original yet the running gear has been change. Very warm 186, 5 speed gearbox & disc brakes all round. I once heard somebody say that "This is car is nice Mild but a little Wild ". That pretty much sum's me up these days. But 20 years ago I would not have been seen in this car for back then it had to be mean fast and furious. Time change's us all but it will never change the HOLDEN as long as we keep restoring them which ever colour takes our fansy at the time.

well said  mark.  as you probably gathered , i was baiting...& john did a little burlying.   car shows would be a little bland if we all turned up in cars the same colour & species. there are some cars out there that i just would not be seen in ,but thier owners are just as enthusiastic about those as we are about ours,  so i try to not hang crap on them &instead look at the finish of the vehicle etc,,,,after all some of them may not see what we see in our holdens....even grey fe's

I recon they all look good does not matter what color. When I brought mine it was already a nice grey  that had been resprayed just before I brought it of the original owner so I was not going spoil the car and change the color just because it was grey it still is a color the same as  all the other HoldensWhat is wrong with grey it still is a color any way it could save you money when painting a car as you dont have to worry about the undercoate.

Careful observation of the species, reveals a trait known as  "Denial".
 
FE/FC Owners often do this to mask problems associated with their particular vehicle.

In this case it is the colour " Grey".  

Nevertheless this owner displays a remarkable affliction toward his Holden, a common element amongst all FE/FC Owners, but are these symptoms of "Chronic Grey Denial" or CGD??

A more sinister form of "Grey denial" where members actually start to see in shades of "grey" and colours are indistinguishable and only shades of grey exist.

Prolonged exposure to a grey vehicle often leads to CGD, as exemplified by Wayne.

Even worse are those CGD sufferers who re-paint pigmented cars with Grey, in an attempt to restore them!


I shall now return to the safety of the "nest"........
