Can anybody explain the differences between FC/FE vents and FB/EK ones?

I have two sets one of which I have already installed in my FE (they aren't coming out because the screen is in) but  I think one set was supposed to be the later ones.

The set I put in my FE don't fit very well and the opening on the vent is smaller than the opening on the dash.

I can't remember whether I compared both sets of vents!

I don't know if these are original equipment

I took the smaller ones out of an FC with a Warmaride heater

The larger ones were in an EK Panelvan with a heater

they look to be FB/EK or something else.

the FE FC vents look like this… metal are original.

fibreglass are reproduction.

Ok thanks guys, mine are both the same as the fb/ek ones Gary posted.

I bought one set when I still had the EK ute and the others came with my FE but weren't installed.

FE/FC ones are "squat", similar to the fibreglass ones that Ed repros. The FB/EK ones are much thinner in the bit that touches the dash.

You can use Ed's FE/FC repros in an FB/EK. They need a little bit of trimming, but otherwise work. I have a set in my EK wagon (with thanks Ed).

Cheers,
