Or do you mean the piece of hose about 10 cm long with a grommet each end which protects the wiring where it is exposed to the road.

Yes, I thought it was one piece. I had figured that I could probably do the same thing with some hose and a grommet for each end - but perhaps that is actually what it is then, so yes I am referring what you have described above.

Roybeth, yes original is one piece, but most I have seen are rock hard and cannot be used.
In the van I built I used a piece of hose and two grommets glued together with loctite
