For anyone who is hunting through the parts pile for Rodger, the length of the dipstick he needs is the FX-EK short dipstick (8.5" long, part number 7410305) with no separate tube (the dipstick slides straight into the block). There is also a longer one for the EJ grey motors (1' 1.5", part number 7415679) with a tube (5", part number 7415681).
Dipstick dimensions above measured are the same way you would measure a bolt or screw (i.e. the length under the dipstick head). Both grey motor dipsticks have identical empty/full markings on the end. The only difference is the need to run a tube.
