At the moment im looking at a fc ute that needs both sills replacing. Just dont know what im getting into when it comes to the filler section behind the doors (where the back doors would be if it were 4 door) Is it a difficult job to replace without removing anything from above the seam at the sill. Trying to keep as much of the original paint as possible too. The tray or bed is actually pretty good but needs both front floor pans either patched or replaced

I did this once on a van with good rear panels and the best way in my opinion is to cut the sill below the seam line and leave that part of the sill in place.
Then carefully trim the replacement sill to fit and weld in.
Make sure that if you do this, that there really is no rust building up behind the skin though as it would be a shame to have to redo the whole lot later
