John, I have done some more digging and found this on flicker. It is a photo of a 1956 F600 restored by the Gibbs family of Wagga Wagga, it may be worth a call to see if you can get some info on the specifications of the truck to help you out with the model. http://www.flicker.com/photos/aussiefordadverts/12848296104/I punched in 1956 F600 and scrolled down and found it. I think if you tell them what you are doing, then they may be willing to help. Regards, Jim

Hi Jim yes have come across this before but have not tried to contact them as yet. Will do a Goggle search to see if I can find the owner. Just need a few more dimensions to really get the ball rolling and yes another great variation on the release. Thanks very much, you guys are a great bunch. John

Hi guys did it work out, sure did. Spoke to Des this arvo and his son Karl, and get this Karl used to own Karl's models and was an on seller for us so small world. Des is a champion fella and will give us as many shots and measurements as we want so we have agreed to build the car carrier as planned and will build Des's truck as well, to good not to build. Once again thanks for your support and effort, you make these projects happen. Warmest regards John

SHIT HOT, it is amazing what can be achieved when a few heads get together. I am glad for you John as it would have been a shame not to get the model just right, looking forward to the end result. Jim

Yes the story and passion behind these vehicles is why we build. My grand love of anything with wheels drives me. I get great pleasure thinking about how many people benefit from building these memories and keep sakes. I hope our cars give people pleasure and one day when some youngster inherits them they will think of good times they shared with that person by looking at the cars. Just the interaction from guys on this forum inspires me and motivates me to get the job done. John

Can I suggest the unique story behind the transporters be included with each model. Many of us here are mature enough to feel the connection, but perhaps a summary on the box or on a card inside would inspire the youngsters to ask us more about our experiences. A lot of our heritage centred around these road transporters.

The FE would be a taxi from the taxi company across the road. The shot is supposed to have been taken in Ballarat according to he FB EK forum so it must be a small Ballarat taxi company.
